"Magdalene Odundo was born in Nairobi and educated in Kenya, India, and England where she studied and taught at the Royal College of Art in London. She currently has a studio in Hampshire, UK and is Professor of Ceramics at University for the Creative Arts in Farnham. Odundo was recently honored with the African Art Award by the Detroit Art Institute and by her appointment as Officer of the Order of the British Empire for services to the arts.
